As anticipated last month, Sorcery has been re-unveiled at a Sony event held in New York City this week. And man did it change since its debut at E3 2010...
As reported by the US PlayStation Blog, developers The Workshop have been busy re-designing the whole look of the game (which is powered by an "heavily modified version of the Unreal engine"), ditching the Harry Potter-ish visual style in favor of a more adult and unique one, which apparently fits better with the hardcore nature of the gameplay, as the developers put it.
Interestingly, the game seems to adopt a semi-automatic camera system which focuses on enemies during combat and then reverts to a fixed, God of War-like behavior during normal exploration. The aim of this system is to streamline the game without resorting to an on-rail solution akin to that of Medieval Moves as it basically allows to perform spell-casting motions while still retaining the ability to freely move around.
